What is the best domain and hosting company around based on price, quality of service and features in your opinions?

Asking a question like this on here is just going to attract either biased opinions based upon a prior experience, or companies/individuals trying to sell you their services (which they are likely to be sold as the best thing since sliced bread).

I recommend you go to http://www.webhostingtalk.com and have a good read. This will give you a lot more opinions and companies to consider.

I also recommend you get your domain name and hosting from separate companies. If you fall out with your hosting company then you can always switch to a different provider, whereas if you registered your domain through the same company then they may dig their heels in and try and make things difficult. Unlikely....but wise to eliminate the risk.

If you get 10 responses to this, then you%26#039;re probably going to get 10 different company names. Personally, I have had various websites over the past 8 - 9 years and used about 6 different hosting companies. I currently host quite a few sites with www.canaca.com and have done so for about 3 years now. In my experience, they offer great value, have fantastic services, easy to use control panel, excellent customer service and have great features with their accounts, (i.e. lots of storage / bandwidth / ability to host multiple sites with one account). The only hosting company I have ever had a problem with is ReadyHosting.com. Poor customer service, frequent downtime and they%26#039;re overpriced.

As for domains go to www.namecheap.com; they%26#039;re the best. Free DNS / email forwarding, low price, great customer service. I never get my domain from a hosting company. I want the freedom to have it set-up elsewhere in case I need to easily switch any of the information associated with it. Hope this helps.
