ok so i am using a free hosting website like this one: http://www.inviho.com/

can i buy a domain off of like godaddy.com or somthing and continue to use the free hosting?

As long as godaddy.com allows a redirect of your URL

%26lt;example%26gt; I host my own website on pages.prodigy.com my ISP , but I purchased my domain name from Yahoo Small Business. When I sign into Yahoo small business location, I had an option to redirect my domain name to my pages.prodigy.net URL. So when someone types in my domain name, it%26#039;s actually going to pages.prodigy.net, but they never know it because the domain name stays the same.

You can forward the domain you purchase from Godaddy tp the URL provided by your free host. You set this up in the control panel on your user account on Godaddy%26#039;s website one you have purchased the domain name.
